Mariah Carey may not have confirmed that she is pregnant, but it looks as though Thandie Newton has done it for her.
The actress, who is currently promoting the Tyler Perry film 'For Colored Girls', appeared on The View yesterday and let it slip that Carey is expecting her first child.
The 'Hero' singer was set to star in the role of 'Tangie' in the film, but had to pull out at the last minute as TaleTela reported.
Newton took over the role, and talking about why it was such short notice, the actress said: "I think she is pregnant."
It's been a rumour for a while, with Carey refusing whether to confirm if it's true. Newton obviously realised she put her foot in it and said: "Or something major is going on in her life, so I carried the baton for her."
The film is based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf', and stars Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington and more.
Newton also revealed that she had only five days to make her decision before filming started, while Carey quit the project just five days before it all kicked off.
Director Tyler Perry was left stunned by the singer's decision and he said at the time: "I said 'What? You're kidding?' It's five she has to go to work, nobody does that. We have a deal."
The 40-year-old diva, who is married to Nick Cannon, will be appearing on America TV later this week to make a "big announcement".
We're not sure what it could be...
