Bernie Mac has been laid to rest in Chicago during a ceremony attended by fellow Soul Men star Samuel L Jackson and Barack Obama.
The ceremony for Mac, who died on August 9, took place at the House Of Hope church in Chicago's South Side where Mac grew up.
Many people from the surrounding area also attended to pay their respects causing traffic to be halted for may blocks.
Speaking about Mac, Jackson said he was aware the comedian was “having some health issues, but always said to me every morning that he was good".
He added that he “was always the kid from Chicago who wanted to make everyone laugh”.
Many of Mac's comedy routines were played on video screens, although all the expletives were beeped out.
