DMX could remain in prison until October following his arrest last Thursday while on a shopping trip in Miami.
The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, went up before the judge on Friday after a bench warrant was issued in Arizona following a missed court date on Tuesday.
The arrest came before DMX's lawyer Brad Cohen could negotiate a -self-surrender to police for his client.
Cohen waived extradition for DMX and contested a no bond hold after a $25,000 bond had previously been set according to TMZ.
Cohen attempted to get a fugitive bond in the state of Florida for DMX so he could return to Arizona to bond out but Judge Lawrence Schwarz rejected this and held up the no bond status issued in by the Sate of Arizona.
Schwartz said: "I am not questioning the veracity of anything you just said to me. I would absolutely have no reason to do that.
"But until state of Arizona lifts its no bond status, it’s a no bond status at this point."
DMX may now have to stay in jail until October 2 when a hearing is set for a drug possession charge.
Cohen says he hopes the rapper will be released before then.
