Snoop Dogg has been given the go-ahead to proceed with his tour of Australia, just days after officials announced they were reconsidering their initial visa approval following a flurry of complaints.
The rapper, real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., was barred from obtaining a visa in August 2007 because of his criminal record, which includes drugs and firearms offences dating back to 1990.
Australia's new government lifted the ban last week, leaving him free to complete a planned tour of the country with fellow hip-hop icon Ice Cube in October.
But the live dates were thrown back into jeopardy just hours after ministers announced their decision - because of a series of objections from the public.
Immigration officers then declared they were to rethink the visa, and would take a "more thorough assessment of Mr Broadus' character" before giving a final decision.
But according to online reports, Snoop Dogg has now been fully approved and will be allowed into the country when the Australian leg of his tour kicks off in Brisbane on 29 October.
