Eminem has reportedly been lined up for new movie 'Southpaw' which is expected to be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who directed 'Training Day'.

The 'Not Afraid' rapper will be playing the role of a welterweight boxing champion who recovers from a personal tragedy by taking to the ring.

DreamWorks have approached Fuqua, and they are hoping to begin production for the new movie later this year, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Fuqua has also been linked to the biopic of the late rapper Tupac Shakur, although the film company have put more urgency on 'South Paw' because of the huge success of 'The Fighter', reports The Hollywood Reporter.

'Southpaw' will be Eminem's first return to acting on the big screen since his appearance in '8 Mile'.
