Most guys wouldn't think twice on this, but for a girl, fashion makes a statement and Nicole Scherzinger was loud and clear at the 'X Factor USA' auditions in Miami yesterday.

The former Pussycat Doll wore very similar colours to Cheryl Cole did on her first day as a judge before she was unceremoniously dropped from the panel. Scherzinger arrived at the auditions with a huge smile, she rocked the peach and purple, something that Cole was slated for.

Scherzinger, 32, decided on a tight-fitting purple skirt in place of Cole's dowdy Diane Von Furstenburg flares. Not all the credit can be given to the 'Poison' singer though, as it was distinctly similar to Kim Kardashian's ensemble on her visit to London last week.

While Nicole Scherzinger has previously said that Cole made her decision not to return to either of the 'X Factor' and did "what's best for her".

In an interview with Heat magazine, Sherzinger's former manager Jeff Haddad claimed that Cole was always going to be sacked from her position to generate more "hype" about the show.

Haddad, who looked after the Pussycat Doll for 13 years but was sacked when Scherzinger was signed to the new show. Giving his reasons for Cole's sensational sacking, he said: "Cheryl was just being used as a cog in the wheel to cause hype and publicise the show. Nicole was never supposed to be a host."
