Cheryl Cole has finally spoken about her departure from 'X Factor USA' after she was unceremoniously booted off the show and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger.

The 'Promise This' singer admitted that it had been a 'knock' but the 27-year-old is positive about the future because of the people around her.

Now that her diary has been cleared for virtually the rest of the year, with no 'X Factor' in the UK or US, Cole has decided to focus on charity work instead through The Cheryl Cole Foundation.

In an interview with Ok! magazine, Cole said: "So much of what happens to you in life is because you have the confidence to recover from knocks, a support network so that you can make the right decisions and information to help you move forward."

Cole moves on to discuss her upcoming charity plans after announcing that she will be auctioning off some of her most famous dresses to help unprivileged youths in the north-east of England.

"It will start by helping vulnerable young people in the north-east. It feels right to be starting here, working to help people where I grew up," she said. "I wanted to try and help young disadvantaged people through my celebrity, if that was possible."

Cole insisted that she was proud of her roots, perhaps sending a message to the show bosses who allegedly sacked her because of her accent. "I’m very proud of my Geordie roots and think the north-east is an amazing part of the country, full of great people and talent," she said.
