Jamie Foxx has been confirmed to played the lead role in a new Quentin Tarantino movie 'Django Unchained' and will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Oscar-winning actor will be playing the role of a slave in the upcoming film that also features Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson, Deadline.com reports.
Tarantino's film will be set in Mississippi during slavery and will see Foxx play Djanjo a slave that is set free by a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter, who will be played by Waltz. Djanjo will also be taught the trade by his mentor while his main goal will be to get his wife back.
Djanjo will have to face Calvin Candie, played by DiCaprio, who runs Candyland, where his wife and other women are being sold for sex and men have to fight in death matches.
Filming is scheduled to start later this year.
