One thing we can say for certain is that they are lacking some serious sensitivity on 'X Factor USA' as Nicole Scherzinger celebrated her 33rd birthday on the set, with a Simon Cowell cake and she gushed that she was lucky to celebrate with the her fellow judges - unlike Cheryl Cole, who celebrates her birthday today.

It has always been a battle between Cheryl Cole and Nicole Sherzinger, since the former Pussycat Doll covered for Cole when she was ill with malaria last year.

Whether they like it or not, the competition was always fierce and now it looks as if Scherzinger certainly has won, as she celebrated infront of the cameras with a Simon Cowell cake and a joke Cowell T-Shirt.

Co-judge L.A. Reid sent the birthday girl flowers, she also recieved a rendition of Happy Birthday from the 500-strong audience with Paula Abdul and Cowell gave her the cake, with his picture on it and a similar T-shirt.

Talking about celebrating her birthday on the show, Sherzinger said: "I am so excited, I woke up this morning and its my birthday, I have an amazing job working with three of the most wonderful people in the world that I have ever met," she also joked: "Well two actually – and then there’s Simon too!"

Cole was reportedly sacked for her poor chemistry with Paula Abdul, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for Scherzinger as she reportedly gushed: "She is my idol and she wished me happy birthday today! And now I get to sit next to her, and stare at her in a kinda creepy way, I think, and just because I just love her so much".
