Cheryl Cole is reportedly "in love" with her ex-husband again as he was seen enjoying a "sexy lap dance" for Ashley at her 28th birthday party this weekend.

The 'Promise This' singer, who is rumoured to have got back together with the footballer, began to stroke his face while giving him a "suggestive lap dance", reports the News of the World.

According to eyewitnesses, the Coles were seen holding hands at the party, which was held on Friday night at the Sanderson Hotel in London, with her mum Joan, the Black Eyed Peas and former Girls Aloud bandmates in attendance.

Before the couple returned to Cheryl's suite at 2am, a source said: "Cheryl did a sexy lap dance for Ashley and stroked his face. But the clincher came when Ashley's fiercest critic, Cheryl's mum Joan, took him by the hand and led him over to her daughter. That was the final seal of approval."

They also added: "Ashley and Cheryl looked really happy. It was obvious they were close. She proved that as she danced up close with Ashley in the corner, whispering in his ear. Then she sat on his lap and caressed his face. They looked so in love."
