Lloyd and Miguel met up with each other for the first time at this weekend's Z107.9′s Summer Jam in Cleveland after they fell out over Miguel's tweet regarding Lloyd's new hairstyle.
The 'Sure Thing' singer blasted Lloyd's new hairstyle on Twitter, as he wrote: “Imitation is the Highest form of Flattery. Shout to LLoyd."
But even though Miguel apologised to Lloyd and tried to make light of the situation, Lloyd was unimpressed and told him straight that he thought the tweet was "disrespectful" and took the attention away from his music.
In audio captured by Z1079, Lloyd is heard asking: “Why would you even say that though?”
Miguel, after having sung 'The Wayans Bros' theme track, said: “Yo, it shouldn’t have been said, as honest as I may have been. If it was like me and you having a conversation and I said it to you, it would have been different. The fact that I said it on Twitter was fu**ed up and I apologize for that.”
But the 'King of Hearts' star felt that he had to explain that the Twitter feud distracted fans away from the launch of his new album.
"The fact is that I was not trying to imitate you. I just felt like it was disrespectful. On some real shit, it was cheap and I felt like it was distasteful," he explained. "The idea behind it wasn’t to mock you or imitate you, it was just to shave my [hair] so I could get a tattoo. For you to say that and bring all that kind of energy to me… It’s album release week so why am I answering questions about Miguel when I should be talking about my album that I worked two years for?"
