Jennifer Lopez reportedly "fought" to keep her marriage to Marc Anthony alive, says her stylist.

The couple announced that they were separating last week after seven years together, but the 41-year-old's stylist, Phillip Bloch claimed that he wasn't surprised by their split.

Bloch insisted that it was due to the couple's three-year-old twins Max and Emme, that Lopez tried to save their marriage.

In an interview with The Mail On Sunday, he said: "She fought to make it work for the sake of the children. She desperately did not want a third divorce."

But he admitted that he was not surprised by the announcement. "This is not a surprise. Marc is very controlling. In the beginning she liked that because he stood up to her, and in the early days he was very much in love with her and she was with him," he said.
