Fantasia Barrino has finally confirmed her pregnancy on stage in Jacksonville this weekend.

Pictures of the former 'American Idol' champion emerged online while she was enjoying a holiday in Barbados with Antwuan Cook, and rumours quickly began to circulate that she was pregnant, but she remained silent.

Now the star confirmed the news while on stage, as she said: “You are the first person that I share this news with. And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk.”

The 27-year-old also added: “This child that I carry, God has given me this child. And I don’t have to hide it from none of ya’ll.”

While the father of the baby has not been named, it seems that Fantasia is back with Cook despite having found out that they were still married last year. The singer also revealed that she tried to commit suicide after she had an abortion with his child.

Barrino has a 10-year-old daughter named Zion Quari Barrino from a previous relationship.
