Keisha Buchanan says that her debut solo album will not focus on her departure from the Sugababes, as she wants it to send positive vibes.
The 26-year-old is gearing up for the release of her first album away from the group, and she explains why she doesn't want the record to be negative.
"I wanted to showcase my vocals and I want to inspire people. It's a very honest album. Hopefully people will get to know me a bit more," she told the Metro newspaper.
"I didn't want to do anything negative but, at the same time, I wanted to be honest and I have been in situations where I have been betrayed in some sense. You can't cry over spilt milk. It's about what you do in that situation. It's about overcoming it."
Keisha and the current Sugababes line-up kissed and made-up last month after bumping into each other at a festival, and the singer says she doesn't like to keep grudges. "I don't hold things against people. I don't like holding onto negative stuff. You can't stay in that place."
Keisha's debut album is expected to be released later this year.
