R. Kelly has been lying low since he had to undergo emergency throat surgery last month but a video has appeared of him thanking his fans for support.
The 'Vibe' singer was taken to Northwestern Memorial hospital in Chicago to have an abscess drained on his tonsils after he began to complain about throat pain that could have cost him his singing voice.
In a pre-recorded video message, the R&B crooner addressed his fans, while wearing a surgical mask.
“I want to say thanks to all the prayer warriors out there for supporting me, praying for me. The doctor said the surgery went well. I know it may not look like it, but it did," he said. "I want ya’ll to continue to pray for me, be strong out there. I will be back. I know it’s a lot of negativity out there, please don’t believe the hype. God is good all the time.”
R. Kelly is keen to get back into the studio to begin working on his new album, as he said: “As soon as I get a chance I’m going back in the studio to work on my next album."
