This Sunday will see the premiere of Maxwell: Storytellers airing on MTV Base. Filmed in May 2011 at the Metropolis Studios in New York City for VH1 sees soul giant Maxwell and his 10-piece all-star band perform all of his classics and cuts from his latest Grammy Award winning album ‘BLACKsummers'night’ in a room packed full of life long fans.
The intimate setting gives viewers a peek into 38-year olds creative process, with the star sharing tales of time in the studio and original concepts for songs from his illustrious career like ‘Fistful Of Tears’ saying, ”this song is inspired by war, I hate the fact we are fighting and I can’t wait for the troops to come back”.
In a career that has spanned 15 years, the singer memorises his audience and re-captures their heart dedicating tracks like ‘Pretty Wings’ to “all the people who have lost and will find love again.”
Viewers at home will be able to see the multi-platinum crooner live before he releases ‘’Summers’ the second instalment of a planned trilogy of LP’s later this year.
