Syl Johnson is reportedly filing a lawsuit against The Throne (Kanye West and Jay-Z) over a track on their collaborative album 'Watch The Throne'.

A post of the "archival record label" claims that the R&B/Soul singer is disgruntled over the fact that one of his songs being allegedly used on their chart-topping LP.

Johnson's 1967 song 'Different Strokes' appears on their track 'The Joy' and was not cleared to be used on 'Watch The Throne'.

The post reads: "Two decades and several lawsuits later, Syl Johnson is a veteran of copyright infringement cases, and has done very well for himself clearing samples from his fertile catalog (we're glad to say we've helped him with a few) for use in numerous tracks."

It also adds: "He's been amply paid, as he is quick to boast in his concerts, by acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Kid Rock, and Michael Jackson. Other performers ... have not been so respectful." The post states that Numero Uno Group has contacted Def Jam about the track's use after hearing it sampled in 'The Joy'. Featuring a cut from Curtis Mayfield, the contested track is actually part of the deluxe edition of The Throne's LP.

It was allegedly to be included on West's 2010 album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' but the Pete Rock-produced tune wasn't cleared in time. It was also claimed that the negotiations halted when the song wasn't being sold.

The Numero Uno Group also continued: "Wondering why we weren't consulted on this new use, and baffled why we appear in the credits, for which we never asked, we contacted the sample clearance house. Even they cannot get a response from their own clients. Island Def Jam seems to think that Syl doesn't have any fight left in him. We're betting otherwise."
