Mel B has revealed the comical experience she had when she gave birth to her third child last night.

The singer was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles when she went to labour and welcomed a baby girl hours later. 

Her spokesperson confirmed the new arrival, saying: "This evening Melanie Brown and Stephen Belafonte welcomed their new baby girl in Los Angeles. This is the first child for Mel and Stephen and both mum and baby are happy, healthy and doing well."

However, Mel reveals that the birth wasn't as straightforward as she had hoped, and she was actually laughing during the experience. "Finally, our baby arrives,Stephen nearly passed out,Pheonix screamed, I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!! She is just sooo amazing!!" Mel wrote on her Twitter page.

The unnamed baby is the first for Mel and her husband Stephen Belafonte but she already has two children, Pheonix, 12, and four-year-old Angel. Stephen also has a child from another marriage.
