Dr. Dre's son died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, according to updated coroners reports released on Friday.
Andre Young Jr. died in August, aged 20, initial reports suggested he died from unknown causes.
But the exact cause of death has now been revealed by the Los Angeles County's Coroner - his passing has been ruled "an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication."
Young's body was found by his mother, Jenita Porter, in their Woodland Hills, California home on 23 August.
Porter has since told investigators that her son had been out with friends the night before his death.
