Twenty years after choosing Compton rapper Ice Cube to play a starring role in his critically acclaimed debut feature Boyz N the Hood, it looks like the duo may reunite for the biopic on the American hip-hop group.
According to indieWire's The Playlist, details regarding the film's production have not been finalised however the feature is tentatively titled Straight Outta Compton. The film's script is complete and already has a potential distributor in New Line Cinema.
"I can’t talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story,” Singleton explained. “The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.”
