Akon’s brother and Def Jam A&R executive Bu Thiam signed Miranda Brooke to his Bu Vision/Def Jam imprint after interest from Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri.
Miranda, hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee arrives with her debut single ‘Hater’, and is working on her debut album with major producers including JD and Bryan-Michael Cox.
Produced by Sham, the melodic mid-tempo track has the singer speaking on her hatred of another girl who always seems to get the good guy while she ends up with the players and starts the song with the line, “I don’t like her, I don’t like her…”
About the song she explains, “It’s a song about ugly feelings…It’s about jealousy, insecurity, and weakness, but it’s honest.”
