Some of the most important women in showbiz turned out for the Black Girls Rock! Awards 2011 co-hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.

The star-studded show took place at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx and will air on BET on November 6th.

The show saw the likes of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Estelle and Melanie Fiona performance like on stage with a number of other celebs turning out on the red carpet to support the event including Alek Wek, LaLa Vasquez, Mary Mary and Taraji P. Henson.

Since 2006, Black Girls Rock! have been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of colour by changing their outlook on life.
