Amid rumours of a spilt within the group, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am took to Twitter to explain his absence as the rest of the group attended the Black Eyed Peas Experience Launch Party in L.A. last night.

Apl.de.ap, Fergie and Taboo were seen on arrival and smiled for the cameras with singer Fergie basking in the limelight at the event which launches the band’s dance video game for X Box’s Kinect and Nintendo’s Wii.

Will.i.am meanwhile explained on his Twitter account that his absence was down to sickness, writing: "Everyone at the super club tonight for the @bep experience...I won't be attending the party...I'm sick with a bad cold...#gohome :("

He later added: "I just met with my @bep family & asked if it was ok if I got rest & they said it was ok...thanx fergie apl and taboo...wish me #willpower."
